One pick. Five markets. Every result published. The Pick of the Day is the simplest way to follow the dividend-capture strategy: each trading day we publish the single best candidate per market, send it to your inbox, and grade it the next day, wins and losses alike.

What the Pick of the Day is

Out of the hundreds of stocks that go ex-dividend on any given day, the Pick of the Day is the one our model and a simple, transparent rule consider the best dividend-capture candidate. We publish a pick for five markets, so you can follow the one that fits your broker and time zone:

  • United States: NASDAQ, NYSE, AMEX (settlement T+1).
  • North America: the US plus Canada and Mexico.
  • Europe: LSE, Euronext, Xetra and more (mostly T+2).
  • Asia: India, China, Hong Kong, Korea, Japan, Taiwan and others.
  • Global: the single best opportunity across every covered market.

The rule of thumb behind the pick

We keep selection deliberately simple and conservative, so it is easy to trust and easy to verify:

  1. Take the upcoming dividends for the market and keep the ones with a meaningful yield.
  2. Pick the highest-yield name whose same-day recovery probability is above 56%.
  3. If none clear that bar, drop to 53%.
  4. If still none qualify, we would rather sit out than force a weak trade (more on that below).

The probabilities you see are the model's real, calibrated output, never inflated. The model has learned that markets are unpredictable: it almost never claims more than ~80% certainty, and almost never less than ~20%.

When it lands in your inbox

Timing is part of the edge, so delivery depends on your plan:

PlanWhen the pick is sent
Free & Basic15 minutes before the US market close, enough time to act before the bell.
HunterAt pre-market, the morning of, so you can plan the whole day and act first.

Every email also carries the previous pick's graded result, so the track record builds in front of you, one day at a time.

Wins, partials, and losses: all shown

Most days the price recovers and you keep the dividend (a win). Some days it only partly recovers, but the dividend still leaves the trade in profit (a partial). And roughly 1 trade in 10–15 loses, usually a small 1–2%. We publish all three. A scoreboard that only showed winners would not be worth following.

Why some days we say “wait”

If no candidate clears our confidence bar, the honest move is to take no action and preserve capital. This is very rare on large markets like the US, there is almost always a clean setup. It happens occasionally on smaller markets such as Europe, where on a quiet day every upcoming dividend may be predicted multi-day. A strategy willing to rest on a bad day is more trustworthy than one that always finds “something.”

The track record (Pick of the Day, since 2020)

These are the real published picks, by region and year. “Recovered” means the price returned to its pre-ex level on the ex-date; win rate is recovered ÷ trades. (2026 is a partial year.)

Across this period the picks landed profitable roughly 89% of the time in the US and even higher abroad, about 94% in Europe and Asia, with North America and Global in between. Notably, the win rate held up through 2020's crash and every year since: the model adapts.
